EXPERT REVIEWS

London On The Inside says: Any new opening by this team is an eagerly anticipated one then and boy they don’t make it easy, with their newest spot, Evelyn’s Table, being a 15-seat affair in the basement of The Blue Posts, the Soho pub they recently took over and renovated. Even for a team on a winning streak, it takes guts to open a restaurant in a former beer cellar smaller than an average-sized living room. read more
The Infatuation says: If you thought the Palomar was hard to get in to, their new place Evelyn’s Table might as well be surrounded by an electrified fence and a 14th century moat. This kitchen table experience only two doors down from the Palomar itself is in the basement of their pub, The Blue Posts. There’s just eleven seats at the bar, and there’s a irreverent and friendly attitude, so be prepared to get friendly with the chef who’ll be cooking everything right in front of your face. read more
Urban Junkies says: It’s all about fresh Mediterranean cuisine here. We say start with the Jerusalem artichokes with hazelnuts, and move on to the cod beignets with taramasalata and smoked paprika. For mains, it’s whatever the fresh fish of the day is – they’ll run you through what’s just come in. read more
The Nudge says: Welcome to Evelyn’s Table. The good news is – by virtue of being one of the few reservable spots in Soho – it can be your table, too. You’ll have to be quick, of course, because the entire restaurant is but a single, L-shaped marble bar, seating up to eleven voyeurs around the bustling open kitchen. read more
